Mumbai Se Aya Mera Dost

Dinanath Singh is honored by the Indian Government, which is televised live. While receiving the honors, Dinanath informs the Government that his village is still without electricity, and he is promised that it will be provided immediately. The promise is kept. Dinanath's son, Karan (Abhishek Bachchan), who lives in Mumbai, hears of this and returns to the village with satellite TV dish and a television set. Dinanath's other son Ajay (Chunky Pandey), who lives in Delhi too returns. When the satellite TV is set up, the villagers are thrilled. TV viewing brings certain changes which worries the village priest and he complains to the village head, Thakur Rudra Pratap Singh. The main grouse of the priest is that the villagers don't devote enough time for worship at the temple after the installation of satellite TV. Rudra is not concerned as he himself owns a TV set. But when the priest informs him that his sister, Kesar (Lara Dutta) and Karan are having an affair he flares and then threatens Karan in the presence of all villagers and a TV crew. They film the whole drama and telecast it live. The plot comes to a culmination when, angered by Karan's defiance, Rudra arrives to make good his threat
